I needed to be in Santa Barbara for a couple of days in August--did not want to pay upward of $1,000/night, so an internet search brought me to Oasis Inn and Suites on Upper State Street. Much closer to my budget--about $200/night for a room with a king-size bed. From the outside, the place looked colorfully nondescript. What I found were friendly staff who let me check in early, a clean and spacious room that came equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator, and a clean bathroom with plenty of towels. the room was tended to each day. I was not bothered by noise. No breakfast, though coffee and tea were available in the office/lobby when the office was open. the place had a pool which children were playing splashing about in, and tables around the pool for picnics. I walked to the Brass Bird, a shirt distance down State Street for a delicious breakfast. Downtown Santa Barbara is a bit far to walk, so I took an Uber.

The hotel is pretty good, but they don't have badges in the rooms, we came 8 days and we are with bags thrown with everything inside. Apart from cooking he has nothing. On the other hand the predisposition of the one in the afternoon is very bad.

Good hotel, comfortable room. I didn't really like the care I got when I checked in. It didn’t get rude, but when I showed the attendant the paper he had printed with my reservation data, he didn’t even look. Taking that detail, he treated us with urbanity. What I liked most in this hotel was the market that has right in front of it, a good market, if I am not mistaken the name is Gelson ́s. In it I bought quality products for a good snack in the evening and breakfast.
