I booked Villa Rosa at the last minute and really wish I had taken the time to read through the reviews telling people to avoid this hotel before I did. The location is great, but unfortunately that was about the only positive for me. There is very limited hotel parking, no air conditioning, and my room was filthy, from the linens to the bathtub. The entire property felt neglected rather than simply old or charming. The icing on the cake was discovering that a hole in my front door had been “repaired” by wadding up a piece of paper towel and stuffing it into the hole. That pretty much summed up the level of maintenance I encountered throughout the property. Villa Rosa has so much potential because of its location, but the condition and cleanliness were unacceptable

Questionable cleanliness. We requested clean sheets when opening the beds at midnight, because the bed had been remade with dirty, wrinkled sheets, sand and footprints plus hair... shower not functional, dirty bathtub and broken microwave. The management's response to our legitimate complaint is unacceptable. Despite an interesting place and location, this hotel is to be avoided. Alas.

Horrible experience. First, we had a room upstairs. There is no air conditioning, but it was very pleasant with the windows open. At 1:00am, we were woken by two couples in the pool having a good time and making lots of noise. That went one for a couple of hours. They left and about 3:00am, a parent and two children got in the pool, also making lots of noise. There was no one to call. Then after checking out, we were alerted to an additional $33.00 charge. So we spent an extra 40 minutes of our afternoon talking to the staff and getting them to process a refund. Buyer beware.
