Hostelling International - Santa Monica - Los Angeles

This hostel is very good and you won’t find better ! It’s that good they won’t let you stay more than 2 week a year 😭😂! Very clean with large rooms so you feel comfortable. Loads of showers and toilets on every floor. I had a very awkward guest in room for the last few days of stay. Some crazy old idiot who moaned if you open the widows at any time ! The room was starting to smell very bad & I was gonna ask to move. You can never tell who your gonna get in room and it can ruin your time there. I have stayed here a lot & usually the guest are likeminded good people. The hostel also as a very good free comedy show on a Saturday evening. I ended up looking forward to them & I often go even when I am not staying at this hostel as they do get good poo in real comedians / it’s not a open mic with hostel guest attempting comedy. It’s real comedians

I had issues with this hostel in the past, but they were not related to their staff/frontdesk. Today was the second time, that I was unable to check in, due to an error on their part, which was only communicated when I got there. Arrogant attitude, yet unprofessional, and policies that don't make sense. I have traveled all over the world, so I know what I am talking about.

I had a great stay at HI Los Angeles Santa Monica! The location couldn’t be better, just a few minutes from the beach, the pier, and tons of restaurants and shops. The hostel is super clean, well-organized, and feels really safe. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy, and the bathrooms are spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready with tips about the area. I loved the social vibe, it’s easy to meet people from all over the world, and they organize fun activities like tours, yoga, and even comedy nights. Overall, this hostel is the perfect mix of comfort, cleanliness, and community. Totally worth it and I’d definitely stay here again!
