Travelodge Santa Monica Pico Boulevard

I stayed here about 10 years ago and was good. I checked Trip Advisor, still looks good, so I booked two nights and all was good! Its an older style establishment with great parking, nice breakfast, clean spacious rooms and friendly desk. For me, the breakfast was spot on, cerial, toast, fruit, boiled eggs, coffee, fresh pancakes, juice, coffee - great stuff! If I was to mention anything, it would be the bath room door strikes the toilet in the room I had (door only opened half way before it banged), nothing serious for the guest. TV was good, fridge & coffee maker all good. BEST thing for me was, walking distanse to Trader Joe's! (PS if you buy a bottle of wine, make sure you buy a cork remover too, or go to the front desk and they'll open it for you. No openers in the room).

The rooms are clean and of decent size. However, the smell of glue or paint that lingers is very strong. The notices stating that the hotel declines all responsibility in case of health issues related to the inhalation of certain products used for the renovation of the rooms are not reassuring... Pleasant secure patio in the hotel with the possibility of having barbecues or eating delivered meals.

We had a great 5 night stay here during a family spring break roadtrip to LA. The main reason we booked this hotel was the onsite EV chargers, which were extremely convenient - the hotel charges $10/night for charging, which is very reasonable, and it was great to wake up to a fully charged car every day. But everything else about the hotel was great too. Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious enough for our family of 4, including our kids who are 6 and 11. The location is excellent, with Trader Joe's literally across the street (good for picking up lunch before heading out each day) and the freeway very close by but not so close as to be noisy. The included breakfast was good and our kids especially liked the automatic pancake machine. Finally, the staff were terrific and you could tell everyone who works there takes pride in their work. We would definitely stay here again.
