Lodge At Calistoga

A fantastic place to stay and so very peaceful. A wonderful welcome from the front of house team and an amazing room as well. When we stayed the central area was undergoing renovation but at no cost to us as far as enjoying staying there. The rooms are super comfortable and clean and we slept so very well. A great location to drive the Silverado trail. What a great location to base yourself to explore the Napa Valley

Maybe .05 miles walking distance to downtown Calistoga. There is no elevator, and they were able to accommodate me with a room on the first floor. The mineral swimming pool is very nice along with the sauna and steam room. Appreciated the water station and the free Starbucks coffee. The people there working also were very, very nice. The hotel does need some updating and repairs done. The gutters are coming away from the roof so the water runs straight down the building, the deck around the pool was cracked and there were missing tiles. In room 222, there were loose slates on the porch railing with nails protruding out of the floorboards and wallboards. The screen door was torn open the size of a fist by the screen porch handle along with the vinyl floor buckled up in front of screen door. We also found a big spider running across the floor in the bathroom. The grout in the shower was filthy, and the bath fan was discussing. Tried using the ironing board, but the bolt holding the legs together was missing a nut so the ironing board would not stand up. In room 103, I did not have a full length mirror and the only other mirror was above the sink. It was so high up or I was too short, that all I could see was from my eyes up. I did love the walk-in shower with the rain head. Ask if I would stay there again- yes I would. We basically only use the room to sleep in.

I got a higher-end room which had a nice view to the NW over a vacant lot. It had a balcony that was not private in that it overlooked a stairway to an adjacent building, the common area and the pool. The room had all of the necessary equipment. The alarm clock had 2 USB C ports, there was a refrigerator and Kuerig coffee maker, there were plenty of outlets and the normal bathroom stuff. The staff was friendly and accommodating when I reached them. I called the morning of my arrival and there was no answer. When I arrived, no one was at the check in desk and there was no button to call the staff at that time (though there was the following morning when I was checking out).. The chair was totally inappropriate for the desk. It was VERY low compared to the desk. My keyboard was basically near nipple level - not comfortable. I complained and was told it was the same set up in every room. (They did bring me a real office chair, which let me work for several hours without much discomfort. Thank you!) The hotel could solve this by either replacing thechairs with office-style chairs or lowering the desks by 5-6 inches. The bed was comfortable enough with plenty of pillows. The interior door to the adjoining room meant there was some noise from that room, but I was able mostly to ignore it. I did not use the mineral pool, which looked nice, nor the sauna or steam room, which was under repair when I was there. I find it annoying that there is a $15 resort fee for, basically, a beach towel and a soaking tub and sauna, Really? Just add that to your overnight charge and remove that annoyance!) There is no elevator to second floor rooms, so get a ground floor room if you are mobility challenged.
