The Americana Village

My first impression was "cute place" inside and out, but some cracks started showing. Overall layout poor - My room had two tvs about 10 ft apart from each other and it caused problems. 1) Both tvs came on at the same time. I had to turn the bedroom TV a different angle to keep it from turning on when in the other room. 2) One tv was stuck on voice assistance so every time I changed the channel or turned up the volume, the TV would speak. And, the property was using universal remotes for some reason, so I couldn't get into settings to fix it. I called the front desk and received complete cluelessness and indifference. 3) Why 2 tvs in 1 room? Kitchenette using mirror as backslash and it faces the bed, so your staring at yourself tje whole time you're in bed. Weird. 2) No coffee provided in rooms which is pretty standard. You have to get it where the free breakfast is and that's set up as a very tiny buffet-type situation where someone is there to hand you toast, boiled egg, orange slices. Obviously this is to monitor how much food everyone takes. I'd rather just have none of that and coffee provided in the room. Oh well. Not totally for me.

I looked on my bank account and I was charged $25 for a towel that I was told was not returned. I did talk to the manager today and they took care of it and refunded the $25 and that’s for towels. Pour the pool that you check out so I went back and put them in the hamper and I guess you’re supposed to tell the front desk, but if there’s nobody there you can’t tell the front desk and the towels are always full in the hamper. I returned my towels and they told me I didn’t and I’m very upset about this situation. I think if they want a better solution to this when the people at the counter, give you the towels. they need to remind you to come back to the counter and sign those towels back in after you put them in the hamper, but there’s a problem. Someone’s not always at that counter when you return the towels you just put them in the hamper, so how are they supposed to know if nobody’s there? I did not appreciate being scolded by a manager telling me I read the write read signs. I’ve been coming there a long time and I’m a little disappointed with this whole situation.

I was really impressed with the layout of this hotel. It's tucked away off the beaten path and very quiet. Upon entering the grounds, there are lots of flowers and grassy lawns by the rooms. The lobby was very welcoming with popcorn, postcards, water, coffee and friendly staff. Our room was well maintained, with really nice decor and super cozy. Our room had every available amenity one would ever need - like a small apartment. It was quiet except for the people upstairs. (I might request an upstairs next time but there is no elevator.) The pool looked inviting and the daily activities looked super fun. My only complaint would be that the floor in our room needs to be mopped as my white sock were very dirty after walking on it. We certainly will return as it is a fun community all in itself. You really feel like staying around to enjoy the premises except to leave for a bite or see the sites. A great, all-inclusive stay.
