Tahoe Mountain Resorts Lodging

We have stayed here twice, both times in the summer. And while it's nice to get away from the Tahoe crowds, it's just too expensive here. What I like here - The condos are nice, and it's nice to walk down and have dinner without having to wait for a table. It's close enough to some of the other resorts and towns that you can easily get to them. What I don't like - The kids on the mountain bikes are a huge nuisance. They come racing down from the mountain, straight into the resort, and most of them pay no attention to the people walking through there. Each day I was almost run over several times, and not once did the biker apologize. It's not safe to have small kids walking there, as they could easily get run over. The resort has signs up telling the bikers to watch for people, but they don't. The restaurants are nice, but in the summer they're not always open so you find yourselves eating at the same places again and again. There are some minor things to complain about at the specific condo we stayed at - the icemaker in the refrigerator didn't work, and the Wi-Fi only worked well 2 of our 8 days there. Those are things you can overlook sometimes, but not for the high price we paid to say here. Overall, I would stay here again if the prices were maybe half of what they were, but not for what they charge here.

We decided to make Northstar our base for a Lake Tahoe ski trip. There is a nice sized village with lots of food and shopping options and plenty of ski-in-ski-out options. The Bighorn condos are relatively modern, very charming and practically on top of the gondola. It is actually a 50 foot walk from the front door. Our one bedroom was very roomy with a full kitchen, fireplace, living and dinning room area, nice sized bedroom with a king sized bed and plenty of closet and drawer space and an oversized bathroom with a tub and separate shower. There was a washer and dryer, fireplace, safe and a ski locker room with a huge locker that could accommodate 6 or even 8 pairs of skiis. Underground parking with elevator access and privileges at two different workout facilities in the village also came with the unit. This was a great pick and more convenient than most of the other condos which are longer walks to the lifts. We will book the Bighorn next time we come here.

My family and I were headed out for a sports tournament and wanted to stay close to the fields but not in a hotel. We booked a VRBO months in advance at Iron Horse South. 3 weeks before our trip I received notification that our VRBO was canceled due to construction. The company I originally booked through was unable to put us anywhere else. I called Tahoe Mountain Lodging and they were amazing, they got us in a condo which was a perfect fit for our family and still within our budget even just 3 weeks before our trip. The condo was in Big Horn, we had a 2 bedroom. It was fully stocked, 2 full bathrooms and right in the center of the village. We were 10 min to the lake, 10 min to the fields, 10 min to a grocery store. It was the perfect location! They had 2 pools and lots of things for the kids to do when they were not playing on the field. The staff was super helpful, we had a minor issue (operator issue, we couldn't figure out the a/c) they sent someone up to take care of it right away. The building didn't have an ice machine in it and the ice machine in our unit didn't work. The staff did supply us with ice which was awesome! Overall this was a great first trip to Tahoe! We would for sure book again with Tahoe Mtn Lodging and this location!
