Motel 6 Van Nuys

EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF!! We booked 2 rooms online. When we arrived management stated the credit card transaction for the 2nd room did not go through, however we were not notified of the issue. Instead when we arrived with 4 people the woman very rudely told us only one booking went through. So, we had 4 people, 1 room with 1 bed and no vacancies. Idly noone called us to let us know the 2nd room booking didn't go through, nor was staff empathetic to our situation we put in by Motel 6. We all 4 went to the room to find another hotel where the other half of our party could stay. 30 minutes later lwe all left the room, and as we were walking to our car, we were approached by 2 men and a woman asking if we had a room on site. I told them we did and asked why. Then she rudely asked what room number we were in. I again asked why having no clue, at this point, who they were. One if the men then yelled out the room number he saw our 4th guest walking out of, to the others. That is when we realized they were staff. (They were not dressed nor did they act like staff, nor did they wear name tags. They actually.appeared and behaved more like gang members) Instead of answering my question's the 2 men and the women talked amongst their selves and then told us we had no right to be there and must leave the premises. They knew what was going on. We obviously had an issue being 1 room short and could have had a little understanding and professionalism considering we were still paying guests. VERY upsetting. EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. Will NEVER book at Motel 6 again!! No stars is not a option...had to put the 1star in order to leave this review.

I stayed at this property because I was driving from LA to the Bay Area and got a late start, so I decided to pull in a cheap Motel 6 to get some sleep at continue the morning. I appreciate that a budget chain will never be the lap of luxury, but a Motel 6 usually offers clean, basic accommodation, which is all I expected. This is likely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my life. The neighborhood is unsafe. The reception is located behind bulletproof glass. There were shady characters in the lobby and halls. You feel unsafe. The hotel is filthy, with stains on the carpet and bedding. I suspect there are drug dealers/street walkers using the hotel. Do not stay here. Avoid it at all costs. And Motel 6 needs to yank its franchise from this property.

I needed an expensive place to stay for one night, found this place and thought it wouldn’t be bad. My initial thought when I first drove up was “Where the heck did I book?” I was met with a security guard. I must admit it was a little intimidating. As I was checking in, I left my mom in the car and she was approached by a man asking if she wanted drugs! 😳 The room was fairly small, floor was dirty with a lot of hair. So after seeing this, we went to Wal mart and bought blankets and pillows. Needless to say we dealt with it because we sort of had no other choice!
