Vagabond Inn

I have stayed at the vagabon inn many times. My crew use to stay there. However, in the last several years it appears not to be open. Their website even has specials. When I call the reservation line for Bagabon inn they tell me it is cold unti further notice. What is going on with this place. There are cars parked inside and It appears to be open but it isn't?????

We stayed here after a packers cruise to the Channel Islands. It was a convenient location for us. Room was fine and the owner was kind enough to upgrade us to larger room. It was spotlessly clean I really can’t fault that. The aircon worked well, parking was good. The motel itself looks a little dated on the outside and we were amused the dinning chairs were actually office chairs but it wasn’t anything off putting. The only gripe I had was that there was a drain in the kitchen floor that was obviously lacking a u-bend and the smell coming out of it was very unpleasant. They tried to help this with a plug in air freshener but it didn’t really do the job. My guess is this is the only room with this issue though. All in all a pleasant enough stay.

I had a last minute family emegency to attend to in Ventura. I needed a place to stay the night. I called several hotels they were booked. I called this one they had a room. After checking in the afternoon, I had to go attend the family emergency. I arrived back at motel around 8:30 to 9pm to unwind . I took a stroll around the property after a short bit I . Found people loitering on the property, People in room with doors open drinking , playing loud music & smoking,.My wife and I tried to go to sllep but could not with all the noise and people slamming doors. Finally we could not take it anymore. I went to front desk at asked at 12:54 am asked for a refund. We felt unsafe staying at this property .The night clerk Maria said could not give me a refund and would notify manager to have them call me.in the morning We checked out and made the long drive back home in the middle of the night.. .Manager never called. I called twice to got hold of manager The manager Ruben said can not give refund. ***HERE IS A DISTURBING FINDING***** after arriving home I come to find out that this property is a project roomkey motel to house homeless people from the covid 19 pandemic. Now it all comes together about all the people wondering around plus the noise... I tried to call corporate offices. All numbers I found are disconneted or hang up immediatley after dialimg.. I even called the 800 reseveration phone number They gave me the same numbers I had as well. This was a last minute unexpected trip. Please everyone go to all the review sites on this property as you will see many disturbing things...
