Motel 6 Walnut Creek

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was very central to walk into walnut creek and to the Bart station. The room was clean and well equipped apart from a coffee machine which was very disappointing. The staff in the reception were not very friendly or helpful and would not let us leave our bags there on the last day. They also didn’t have a map of the area we had to find our own way around. (We didn’t have a car) There was a pool but we didn’t use it as the weather wasn’t too good.

I traveled to WC to visit my sister who just had a baby. I didn’t want to stay with her so I checked out the area motels. I don’t have a lot of money so I selected Motel 6 because of its lower rates. I was a bit skeptical at first and I think it showed. Debbie checked me in and we were soon chatting it up. I didn’t have to ask and she offered me extra towels and gave me a brief overview of the property. She even gave me the name of the next person to go on shift just in case I needed anything later. The room was basic (what I expected) and clean. I worried about noise and activity outside my room and was pleased that my slumber was uninterrupted. Another nice touch was that every time I saw an employee I was greeted with a smile and a hello. I checked out at the office and Debbie was on duty again. We chatted and I thanked her for her and the staff’s friendliness. I really felt like an honored guest and this was a Motel 6. I will stay here again the next time I’m in WC. I highly recommend this Motel 6.

The hotel is pretty standard for motel 6. The surfaces you touch and the bed were fine. My only contact with staff was Debbie at the front desk. Cheerful, helpful. I was a walk-in. She gave me the very best rate possible. One hour into my stay I heard water dripping. It came from room above and was behind a wall so no water got into my space. I called Debbie. Maintenance was right there. Debbie followed with me a little later to verify all was good with the room and me. Old world customer service. What a pleasure.
