The Annabelle Inn

I booked two nights at the Annabelle as a surprise for my husband's birthday. The check-in experience nearly ruined it. We walked in after a four-hour drive with tickets to a symphony that evening. The woman at the desk, who I believe is the owner, was turned sideways at her computer and said something I couldn't hear. When I told her we were checking in, she seemed annoyed that I hadn't answered whatever she'd asked. She then announced out loud what I'd paid for the room, which was embarrassing given the high price and given that this was meant to be a surprise. She handed me a sheet of rules. I signed it to keep things moving, and she scolded me for not reading it first. I told her that I understood and just didn't want her to announce it. She read every rule aloud anyway. When it was obvious I was uncomfortable, she started making a show of how sorry she was for embarrassing me, repeated loudly and pointedly, with no apparent understanding of what she'd actually done. It came across less as an apology than as a way of making the point again. After all of it, she walked us outside to spend five minutes explaining the hot tub rules. She never asked whether we planned to use it. We didn't. We made the concert, but had to stand through the first act. The room itself was just okay. Very small, a bed I found uncomfortable, and an HVAC unit so loud it will wake you up unless you run it constantly. The rest of the staff were friendly, and we loved Aspen. But I wouldn't book the Annabelle again.

My stay was for the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. The Annabelle Inn staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Breakfast was good every morning. My room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and will stay there again.

The Annabelle Hotel was wonderful. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive and accommodating, and truly went out of their way to care for guests. The rooms were clean, quaint and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely each morning and the location was perfect for exploring downtown Aspen. I was so impressed by the hospitality and would absolutely stay again. Thank you for a great weekend Sheryl
