We went to the bistro to get a quick bite to eat, and it turned into a disaster! We ordered buffalo wings that were flavorless chewy, and one of the dips taste like mayonnaise that was ready to turn sour! Then we ordered hamburgers that the buns were cold The cheese was cold, and the patty was barely lukewarm. We asked for condiments, and we’re only given catch-up, they said they did not have mayonnaise or mustard. We ended up only eating two of the wings and probably a third of the burger and the insulting.

After a terrible experience at Sheraton Denver West a week ago, we decided to try the Courtyard by Marriott Denver Southwest/Lakewood on this trip to visit our son. While the hotel is decent, the sliding glass door in our room was so poorly sealed that it sounded like an open window where we could hear every single car driving by on the roadway nextdoor. It resulted in two nights of terrible sleep! We also had a very loose handle in the inside of the shower that they fixed after we brought it to their attention. The worst part was that we returned late on Sunday night after all the football games only to find that they had not serviced our room! I tried to call the Front Desk only to learn that their in-room phone doesn’t work! So, I went to the Front Desk to ask why they didn’t service our room and they told me that you have to be there for 3 days before they service the room!! What?? I asked if this was a Marriott Policy or a Franchisee Policy and he said it was a Franchisee Policy!! He gave me fresh towels, but then we realized after we were already in bed, that they did NOT replenish the coffee supplies!! So, my wife called the Front Desk from her cell phone and asked for coffee supplies. Initially, she was told they could not bring them to us, but we explained that we were already in bed, so he acquiesced and brought them to us. This was NOT the experience we expected from MARRIOTT, so we will not be using MARRIOTT again anytime soon! You can’t keep claiming COVID five years later as an excuse to NOT service hotel rooms on a daily basis!!

Our family stayed here for 4 nights to enjoy the colors beginning to change in Colorado, as well as a concert at Red Rocks. From our warm welcome at check in, to a handwritten note from the management thanking us for choosing their hotel, we were well taken care of. As titanium members, we enjoyed an upgrade to a king suite with a separate bedroom. The space was nicely updated and clean. Note that in order to access the bathroom from the living space, you must go through the sleeping room. The pull out couch is VERY firm, but was clean and worked fine for kids. It felt more like sleeping on the floor with just a thin camping mat for cushion. A foam mattress pad would probably go a long way if there were a way for them to provide a little extra confort. We ate breakfast at the bistro each morning as part of our room rate package. The woman running the bistro had her hands full, as it was quite bustling each day, but handled it smoothly and efficiently. Expect to wait 10 minutes or so for a hot meal choice and specialty coffee. Pastries and regular coffee are ready promptly for a quick exit. The kids got to choose from 3 “kids meal” options as outlined in our package, which included french toast, scrambled eggs with fruit, or cereal plus a kids beverage. It worked out great for us, and we would certainly stay again on future visits.
