Quality Inn Durango

I guess my expectations were high based on the reviews. This hotel is mediocre. It is an older hotel. The carpet is standard hotel rough carpet. The blackout curtains had a few holes and did not close completely. The sofa was torn, but adequate. However, the bed was extremely comfortable. The sheets, bathroom and towels were clean. The bench by the bed had hair all over it, so we asked for that to be cleaned. The breakfast was good. Better than most. They changed the kind of coffee while we were there. The coffee was decent the first couple of days, but the new coffee they served was awful. Very very weak. The woman who works in the dining room is an angle. She was constantly refilling items and coffee, and she did it with a smile. She was always pleasant despite how busy she was.

Clean, comfortable beds and breakfast was always a great wake up. The young man working breakfast was upbeat and enjoyable!

Convenient location right off 160. Super helpful front desk staff. Water pressure is AMAZING. After a long day of hiking and water sports, was so nice to get blasted by 90psi water pressure shower here. Breakfast was surprisingly good with biscuits and gravy, hash, and sausage and scrambled eggs. Two fresh waffle makers that made pretty good waffles. Coffee is so so medium roast. Was OK. Beds were comfy and pillows are just right. In room A/C gets down pretty low thank God. Don’t stay at a lot of comfort inn’s and this one was a great stay. If you have an EV or PHEV, the La Plata ChargePoint chargers are exactly a 7 min walk to/from the front door of the hotel just south on the main frontage road. However, these are very slow 4.6kw chargers and they say they don’t allow overnight parking but pretty sure on a weekend you’re fine.
