Best Western Sandman Hotel

This place was filthy and shady. We bailed and went to the Econo Lodge down the street. There was no hand soap. There were stains all over the bed. The rooms smelled awful.

I was life flighted to the hospital in Grand Junction 3 weeks ago. My husband stayed the Quality Inn. Very nice and affordable. I needed to go back to get a procedure done. The reservation desk told me Days Inn by Wyndham was an upgrade and cheaper. I went directly from a surgical center to this. $112! Even the bed had paw prints on it. The pictures tell it all. I’m surprised Wyndham has rooms like this.

The entire place was filthy and a real safety concern. The first room they assigned us was bug infested, no towels, soap, and had not been cleaned. The refrigerator door could not close and there were drops of dried blood on the floor by the sink. The bed had been made, though, just not clean. The trash in the walkways and stairwell was overflowing. The stairs themselves were uneven and several treads were loose and wobbly. The second room we were assigned we actually watched them clean it, but it was cursory. The toilet did not fully or properly flush and the hot water valve in the shower did not work, so - no shower. We were with a large group so leaving wasn't an easy or viable option and it was very late and we were exhausted. The man at the front desk when I checked out in the morning basically said that it was my fault for not notifying them the night before so that maintenance could fix it and then proceeded to tell me it was already on the list for maintenance. BAD place!
