Super 8 Keystone/mt. Rushmore

We traveled with our pet to Custer, SD. The room we were assigned smelled really bad and the rug was very dirty. I took a photo of the urine stain on the carpet which I saw immediately upon entering the room and showed it to the front desk because I was concerned I would be charged for cleaning after we left. I commented that the room had a very strong smell of wet dog. The front desk staff did not offer a different room. The smell was overwhelming. The popcorn ceiling was covered with dirt above the air conditioning unit. The towels are thin and clearly old. The breakfast was mediocre. I left a review on another site, the general manager responded to my review saying that I was offered a refund for my first night and option to move rooms - I never met the general manager nor did anyone offer me any refund or another room.

Had a great time. Staff. Was very good. Accomadations where very good.

Clean room very close to Mt. Rushmore. The only downside of Keystone is that there is NOTHING open past 10 pm. Make sure you eat before doing the night lighting at Mt. Rushmore. Creeky floor above us woke me up before 7 am, and don’t expect much in the way of a free breakfast “item”. The young man at the front desk was super welcoming and friendly!
