Peaks Resort

We stayed at The Peaks Resort & Spa for three nights in September 2026 and booked a two bedroom Signature Suite. I was sad to see how far this hotel has deteriorated, both the property and service level they used to have here 20 years ago. The hotel still presents itself as a luxury property and a coordinated guest experience. Neither matched what we encountered. The operation was disjointed from arrival; after taking our name, the valet asked me to come back outside after check-in to tell him our room number (why isn’t that all connected on their side and that fell on me to do?). We had someone come knock on the door the first morning at a wildly early hour (about 7 am) to ask if we wanted housekeeping. The building is horribly neglected. On the guest floors, doors to service hallways were left open with housekeeping carts and bins in view, and linens were left on the floor. The spa is even worse…..The hot tub is dirty and worn, and ceiling panels in the pool area were visibly damaged and sagging. We learned only after walking into the spa that the men’s sauna, steam room and soaking tub, the women’s soaking tub, the lap pool and the water slide were closed for maintenance. The indoor and outdoor pools were unheated. None of those limitations had been communicated to us before our stay, rather the hotel continues to market itself as one of the largest and nicest hotel spas and Colorado (as you can see from the photos, that is untrue). The hotel removed the resort fee after we raised our concerns, which I appreciated. Still, the fee was a small part of what we paid. Had I known the condition of the property, the disjointed service and how much of the spa would be unavailable, I would have spent the only slight amount more on a comparable room at the Auberge Madeline across the street or another luxury property like Lumiere in the area. I’m posting photos because the gap between the price and the actual experience is difficult to convey otherwise. To all reading this review –I am sad to say it because I used to love this hotel, but I urge you to consider alternatives.

We were on a girls trip, and Cimaron was working the bar. We were celebrating a big birthday! She went above and beyond to make one of our birthdays so special. She also shared some good advice about the area. We'll be back.

We had a lovely time at Peaks resort. Camiron was our waitress/bar tender and she made the evening so special!
