Days Inn And Conference Center Branford

I stayed at this hotel once previously and it was fine so I thought it would be safe to book again but boy was I wrong. The second you entered the room, you could barely breath from how bad the musty smell was. The corner of the closet area was full of mold. There was a spot for an iron, but it was missing. Half of the lights in the room did not turn on at all. A previous visitor's belongings were still in the room. Someone had taken the batteries out of the smoke alarm and left it open. The worst was all the spiders. They were everywhere. When I got home, I washed all my belongings multiple times and still can't get that musty smell out of them. Awful experience. Would never go back. Considering this was considered a "deluxe" room...

My family had to travel to Connecticut on short notice and this location was one of the few places that had availability for the weekend, so we figured “OK Days Inn - how bad can it be”? This was the absolute worst experience I’ve had with a hotel. The room was extremely cold, we could not get the heater to work; when we called the front desk, a gentleman came up and giggled the outlet for it to start working and also plugged in a space heater to warm up the room. On the second day we left the room at 10am, prior to leaving we placed the hang tag on the door indicating that we were out and assuming that will prompt room service. We we so wrong with our assumption; when we returned after being out for more than 10 hours, we were surprised to discover that our room had not been serviced - beds were not made and towels remained dirty in a pile on the bathroom floor. After notifying the front desk, I was told that I did not tell them to service the room and clean towels weren’t available until 7:30am the next morning. I called at 7:30am to request clean towels and was informed that the housekeeping staff was running late; I had to walk over to the lobby at 8am to get the towels myself so we could shower and get out of that nightmare. I was surprised and disappointed that the Wyndham name is linked to this property, I will ensure that everyone I know is aware of my experience so they do not have to be subjected to this sub-standard accommodation.

I almost thought this place was closed down when I first drove up. There was debris piled up on the outside wall as you drive up. Sidewalks and pavement is heavily cracked. Balconies and stairwells are in awful shape. The room was clean and nice so I guess that's where they put their attention. Friendly staff.
