Just traveling through for one night. Our room had been 90% updated, was clean with everything you might need. The exterior and some public spaces need a bit more TLC, which I understand is expensive. The staff was polite and helpful.

Booked this hotel for family for the price. Did not read the reviews. The Lucy was under construction but that’s acceptable, therefore no amenities like snakes or drinks in lobby. Room simple and looked clean. Alerted to reviews of bed bug problem and of course freaked out. Addressed it with front desk which was very friendly and they said the hotel was just inspected and if I found any she would give me a refund. I inspected both rooms I booked very carefully. Bedding was wrapped well in high quality mattress sack so easy to check. Everything looked new and clean. Checked chairs in rooms. Clean. Had no problem with these two first floor rooms. Overall they appear to be making the effort to upgrade the hotel. And the no fee for pet is a nice feature too. Coffee in morning, no food available but diner and deli walking distance. If you are needing to find a reasonable priced stay I thing you’ll be good staying here. No hairdryer in room but they had one to lend me.

My wife and I are traveling with our dog and to avoid Boston traffic, We decided to stay at The Red Roof Inn in Vernon CT September 19-20. I booked via Bring Fido and when I checked my confirmation email, I found I had booked a Smoking room instead of a non-smoking room. It was totally my fault for not paying full attention and was hoping I could get a replacement room or cancel and make a new reservation. Talking to RRI Customer Service didn't fix the problem, so they suggested I call Bring Fido, which I did. Celeste was great and told Me she would talk to them about changing the room. After being on hold for about ten minutes, she got back to Me and informed the hotel would not make the switch and suggested talking to the Front Desk. After four tries of two rings, then silence, I cancelled the reservation. I spent close to an hour trying to fix what I feel really couldn't be that big of a problem. Plus reading the less than stellar reviews about cleanliness/amenities made Me feel I made the right decision. I work in Customer Service and usually do not complain, but this is just bad business practice and in good conscience, I cannot recommend this Inn.
