The only good thing about it-close to the ocean. That is it. At registration, they were so hostile to me "because I book it with Expedia" We had room 301. Stained couch, dining table with a broken leg, smell of dust and mold... The most annoying-incredible noise. The old air conditioner is making a very loud noise, especially at night-you feel like sleeping in an airport, not in a beach hotel. We tried to turn the conditioner off and just open the balcony- the noise is still there from the next room's conditioner. We complained and tried to change the room and were told that "no rooms are available". I can believe that the hotel could be full on the weekend, but Monday 9/14? I think they just lied to us. We had 3 sleepless nights and a ruined vacation.

The hotel was very clean. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Coffee is always available and, while there is no breakfast, there are always muffins and fruit available in the mornings. Our family had a very positive experience at Henlopen Hotel, and will return again.

The oceanfront hotel room was dated, in need of a serious renovation. There was no bath soap/shower gel, which was a first (thank goodness I always bring my own as backup!). The air conditioner barely worked; had the temp set at 69 degrees and the room was still warm. I had to move the chair in an attempt at maximum air circulation, to discover vents covered in dust! The outside hallway smelled of mildew. I think I read that this is one of the oldest hotels in Rehoboth, and it shows!
