HAMPTON INN WASHINGTON-DOWNTOW

I had hoped to spend a great visit for APA in Washington DC. I always find a way to go to a Hampton as they have a perfect mix of amenities, costs, and they have great beds. Sadly, my flight was canceled by AA due to bad weather. Even more sadly, the manager here declined to refund my room cost. An unnecessary slight on top of a difficult situation.

We traveled with a group of Girl Scouts ranging in age from 13-18. We stayed 6 nights. All of the front desk, concierge, and breakfast staff we encountered were so gracious not only dealing with our group but all the other groups of youth that were also staying. Group travel, with youth, presents a unique challenge of controlled chaos, big groups in lobby, laundry and hallways, and controlling noise levels. Your staff seemed to understand these and allowed us to set up family style eating in the lobby area, helped us when our flight was well after check out and we had a Capitol Tour in which we couldn’t take anything with us. From greeting us in and out of the building and everything in between, I greatly appreciate the experience we’ve had at this location! Special shout out to Loriane at the front desk who created a little extra magic for us on our last day! Your staff are awesome!

Location is pretty central but valet is $60 A NIGHT. There is parking around the hotel but will also be around $50 dollars each night. I would recommend finding a hotel that has parking included if you have a vehicle.
