Unfortunately, this place is somewhat hit-and-miss. One. The Internet worked fine in the room for three days, then it was out for four days, and after I told the front desk about it several times it was finally fixed. But I don’t like being without the Internet in the room. Two. The ice machine was not working when I got here, for four days, then it was fixed and worked fine for another four days. Yesterday it went out again. No ice, in a property with five buildings and only one ice machine. Three. Room cleaning is also inconsistent. I am on a longer stay and don’t insist on maid service every day, but every three days or so would be nice. I put out my sign on the door knob yesterday at about 9:45 AM as of today at 10 AM, they still haven’t cleaned the room. So overall, the spinnaker is OK – the room is big, nice fridge and microwave, but the three items above, make it a hit-and-miss proposition.

I am a former Army infantryman who has slept outdoors in a fighting position I dug myself, and even that was more comfortable than the bed at this hotel. The mattress was sleeping on metal springs. I doubled over the bed spread and slept on top of the 4 pillows available in the room and the mattress still caused immediate back and hip pain. I barely slept and woke up feeling worse than when I arrived. For the price being charged, basic sleep comfort should not be optional. If you value rest or even minimal mattress quality, I strongly advise choosing another property. This is the worst experience I have had in a hotel (in terms of sleep quality) as a civilian. It's unfortunate too, the hotel was clean, safe, affordable and centrally located. It was However NOT a place I would return to. I literally considered showering and then taking the sheets and pillows to my car to sleep the rest of the night. I may still have to do that..

The staff, from the manager Jenna to the front desk clerks, are confrontational and seem to go out of their way to exert their combative attitudes. Toilets do not work and the rooms are well below average. It may be the cheapest hotel in the area; however, do yourself a favor and spend a little more to avoid this nightmare! Sleeping in your car would be better than wasting money at the Spinnaker Inn.
