Surf n Sand Motel

Location was fabulous! Basic rooms that were clean but could use a little more home comforts e.g maybe a rug in the living room. When we checked in our room smelt really bad of cigarette smoke. Told the host and they said sorry but didn’t offer to help or provide something to alleviate the smell. We asked for extra blankets which we got eventually but I had to ask housekeeping as none were delivered. The housekeeping staff were amazing and very helpful (really the only people onsite). Most disappointing was check in was at 3pm and we didn’t receive our check in text until after 10pm on our check in day! Luckily we had kept the original reservation we had made a year ago that had the door code otherwise not sure what we would have done. The host had informed me we would get the check in text before check in time but we didn’t. The pool is not heated so there is no way to go in it this time of the year. Basically if you are looking for something budget friendly, in a good location, and not mind about a host who isn’t overly reliable on communication, surf and sand is just fine and has the basic amenities for a vacation.

We spent the weekend. A very pleasant place and the unit we stayed in was very clean, organized and the owner was very attentive and helpful. The view from the unit is very beautiful, with a bay next door and the location is excellent, very close to the beach and shops, and you can walk.

Cute little place on the water. Easy walkable to all places in Clearwater beach. Less than 1 mile from everything. Very relaxing to sit outside on the deck in morning with coffee looking at the water. Hosts were easy to communicate with and nice.
