Floridays Resort Orlando

I am on my last day at Floridays resort, i have been here for a month. This is the 3rd time in 10 years I have been to the resort. The reason we have returned over the years is the value, location and the space the condos provide, especially useful for families with older kids. We have come to the conclusion that we will not be returning again and will be choosing other resorts for future trips. Below i have detailed everything. Arrival - On arrival lobby has been renovated in recent years, nice area and staff friendly. Our family arrived a week after us and were given wristbands for pool access etc, we noticed others with them. We were not given to us, not an issue as room key gives access to pool area. Rooms - This is probably my biggest issue with the resort, these are tired and in need of some love. Furniture is old and broken in some cases. Usb chargers on lights don’t work. Shutters by jacuzzi bath wonky with bent steel pieces at bottom, could cut self on them easily. Kitchen utensils very basic, and not enough plates and cutlery for larger groups. Shelves in fridge broken and taped back together. mould growing in shower, cleaners did eventually clean. Toilets make dripping noises a lot. Grounds - The resort grounds and outside areas are nicely maintained, same effort should be applied to the rooms! Pool - Area is nice, however have noticed on last couple of visits, the bottom of the pool has a lot of broken areas, leaving jagged edges which could cut your feet or stub your toes on easily. They seem to patch these areas up, needs a complete reflooring as is an ongoing issue for years now! Weekends get very busy with american visitors arriving for short stays. A few sagging/broken sun loungers too. One day a suction hole in the pool was strong it sucked my back and left a mark, it hurt! I spoke to the housekeeping manager who apologised and said he would get sorted. Food/Drink - Cafe is pretty good and reasonably priced. Food is not incredible and but nowhere near the worst. Starbucks coffee which is nice. Standard breakfast and dinner offering, decent selection of snacks and drinks to buy. The pool bar has an average selection of drinks, if you are looking for premium cocktails or top range spirits, you won’t find them here. Gym - Small but enough decent equipment to get a decent workout. Location - Located at the south end of international drive, lots of supermarkets, shops and outlets within 10-15 mins walk or couple of mins by bus or uber. Can get i ride trolley to seaworld parks, 10 mins in uber to universal or disney springs, 15+ to disney parks. This is the quieter end of Idrive and the nicer looking end. Overall - Has potential to better than it is, but will only be that if rooms are renovated to higher standard, would probably be able to charge more then too. There are nicer more modern options with better facilities and think would be worth it. However if you are looking for a cheaper option and can look past the issues i have covered, you can’t really go wrong.
