My wife and I wanted a get away weekend and wanted to go to this nice small town for a quite weekend getaway. The first or THREE rooms we checked into the air was not working. After a few attempts by the front desk person we were unable to get it working. Room two was an upgraded room and very nice but when we returned from dinner the ceiling was leaking water and we noticed mold in several locations where the water had been leaking. (the room had a strange order as well) Room three was very similar to room one and the only issue was the lock did not function all of the time. We were able to work around it and get through the weekend. I'm mostly disappointed that the hotel did not try and reimburse me for at least one of the nights for all of the moving around we did. I did reach out several times and was told the owner was out of the country. The one bright spot is the reasturant is excellent for Cuban sandwiches. I would avoid this 100 year old hotel unless your are willing to view all the rooms.

Disappointing hotel stay July 1-4, 2026…Travelers beware! What you reserve at the Artisan hotel in DeLand Fl may not be what you receive upon arrival. The Royal Suite that we were assigned as a replacement for the Lotus room I’d booked directly through the hotel reservationist, is not a boutique room, nor close to the hotels represented pictures of the Lotus Suite, so much more that I’ll refrain from sharing. No price adjustment nor email communications have been received following my request at the time of checkout. Hotel lounge and downtown Artisan Alley was fun!

Very poor remodel and nothing like the website. The room was dirty and poorly maintained.
