We stayed in the one story U-Shaped Everglades City Motel for one night before boarding the Everglades National Park Boat Tour at 10:00 AM the next morning. We were confused when we arrived from the north because the Ivy House Everglades Adventure Hotel we saw first that is taller and looked like what I remembered in making reservations included "Everglades City Motel" on their sign but we could see ahead the Everglades City Motel that drove to first. We went back to the Ivy House to see if they had our reservations. The lady at the Ivy House explained "she" handles reservations and keys for 4 properties including both the Ivy House and the Everglades City Motel nearby where her computer said they had us booked because they don't have a staff to service the 4 properties or after 9:30 PM. She helpfully explained how to get to the nearby Everglades National Park Boat Tour at 10:00 AM the next morning. We visited that site to assure we knew where to catch the boat, went to the Everglades City Motel where we spent the night and caught the boat in the morning. The room was adequate for our purposes, but the ice machine next to the separate building in the middle of the "U" shape motel was out of service. We made due without ice or local staff support, spent the night, enjoyed the boat ride, and left town for our next stop.

A tiny yet comfy bungalow, easy walk to a diner. No remote for the ceiling fan/light & the light over bathroom mirror strobed like a 70's rock club. But, a quiet, enjoyable stay. Could use a closet rod or wall hooks but for our two night stay enroute to points south, worked for us. The price was definitely right. Friendly front desk staff (check-in is off premises at the Ivey).Old Motor Lodge style lodging on the cusp of the glades.

This is a great place to stay when you're wanting to explore the Everglades. The room is good but the ac unit can be a bit noisy. Bathroom is lovely and there is a cafe close by, perfect for breakfast. This is was a great place to stay and we would definitely stay again.
