El Palacio Resort

On a positive note; the bed was comfortable. Sadly, that's where the positive ended. Everything was shabby, dirty or missing altogether. After a grueling 12 hour day of travel we had to find a room for the night when other reservations didn't work out. This hotel was reasonably priced and had a room available. The bed had a dirty, stained duvet with no cover and a couple of sorry little pillows. When I called to request a couple more pillows I was informed that they had no access to housekeeping and I "would have to wait until tomorrow ". There was one bath towel in the bathroom and no hand towels. The shower curtain was stained and too short to keep water from running out on the floor. The tub was dirty as well. There was a coffee maker but no cups or coffee. The commode seat squeaked like a door in a haunted house and the bathroom door hit the front of the commode when opening or closing it. Everything was stained and/or rusty. What a sorry excuse for a hotel!

Over an hour wait to check in, even though it was 11:15p.m at night. During the process the attendance was trying to charge us "resort fee" of $26.00 for two nights instead of for the one night stay. Despite the fact that we were showing confirmation for the one night, the attendance called over her colleague who also refused to check our confirmation but yelled and blurted out in front of other guest that she can "denied us service". It took another 45 minutes to reach our booking company so that they could confirmed that we are booked for only one night. In all it took an hour and half to checked us in this undesirable place!!

I think I would have got better sleep and felt safer if I slept on the street.
