Marriott Fort Lauderdale North

Was located right adjacent to where my meeting was the next morning, so location was perfect. Bed was comfortable, room clean, and it was quiet. My room had a sliding glass door to the exterior which would not lock with the handle and the security pin would not engage so door could be easily opened. Wasn't there long, and didn't leave room so wasn't too concerned, but if there for more than a brief overnight, I would have needed to change room or get it fixed. Breakfast was ok, wouldn't have wanted to pay extra for it, but was part of the rate I had paid.

I am a Platinum Elite member with Marriott, and my experience at this hotel was deeply unsatisfactory. The property is extremely outdated and in dire need of renovation. Most importantly, my room’s air conditioning was broken, causing my girlfriend and me to sweat through the night, making sleep impossible. When I reported this to the front desk, I was met with a joking remark“Why did you break the AC?”which was completely inappropriate. After insisting the AC was clearly broken, an engineer was finally sent only to confirm the obvious. Without any sincere apology or acknowledgment, I was switched to a random room-one that didn’t even match my original booking with a balcony. Which my balcony would not closed properly I can hear the air and fill the heat coming from the balcony on top of my AC not working thank you Which one am I? Given the lack of empathy and the poor hospitality, I canceled my second night entirely. It’s disheartening to see the hospitality world take such a major dive. As a loyal Platinum Elite member, I am beyond disappointed. I expect compensation that reflects the level of inconvenience far more than 10,000 points. I had to drive 40 minutes to a better-rated hotel. Marriott, do better.

From the start Rashay at the front desk took care of me. She was considerate, kind and very helpful with my complicated reservation. A pleasure to interact with. Yohanna at the restaurant had a smile on her face and was very attentive to us during our breakfasts each day of our stay. The hotel was clean, well appointed and didn’t disappoint. Highly recommended.
