We stayed 4 nights at Casa Ybel in a 2-bedroom suite and traveled with our 2-year-old and 11-week-old. Overall, we had a great stay and loved the peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere. I’ll share what we loved and a few things that could have been better. The good: All rooms have beach views, and our room had an ice maker and coffee pot, which were very convenient. The resort was quiet and the rooms were well insulated — we never heard our upstairs neighbors. We stayed on the “first floor,” and our balcony had direct beach access, which was amazing. The resort provides pool and beach towels, and they have poolside service for food and drinks. The beach was not crowded, and you can rent chairs and umbrellas right on the beach. We also rented a poolside cabana for $150 for the day, which was a great addition, especially with a baby. It provided a shaded place to relax and came with fruit and waters, which was a nice touch. There is also a restaurant on property, which was convenient. We did feel it was a little overpriced, and since we didn’t make reservations ahead of time, we didn’t get a table with the best water view (which was our own fault). Things that could have been better: Because the resort is built up for flood protection, the first floor requires stairs and there are no elevators. With a family of four and lots of baby gear, this was challenging, although the staff was very helpful with luggage when requested. Our suite had two bathrooms, but both showers had poor water pressure. We were also surprised that we did not receive any housekeeping service during our 4-night stay. The biggest issue for us was the 2-bedroom layout. The king bedroom is upstairs, while the second bedroom with two beds is downstairs right by the front door. The door did not have an upper lock, and our 2-year-old could open it even when locked. We ended up having her sleep in our room, which defeated the purpose of booking a 2-bedroom suite. Our room had an ocean view, but it was partially obstructed by plants and shrubbery. My sister-in-law stayed in a one-bedroom suite that was closer to the beach and had a much more open view. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and loved the location, beach access, and relaxed atmosphere. With improvements to housekeeping, shower pressure, and the family room layout, this would be an even better experience

Booked a two bedroom unit in July 2026 for Thursday through Sunday. We are Florida residents, and have our best friends coming in from Netherlands, and want to finally return to Sanibel after Ian's destruction. After we booked the unit, we received an email from Casa Ybel advising that their two bedroom units are actually time shares, and are booked Friday to the next Friday. As we were coming in on Thursday afternoon, they advised we would have to move after one night (but they would help). This was not advised on the front end when booking, which borders on deceptive advertising. Who wants to come for a long beach weekend and have to pack up and move the morning after arriving, then go though the whole unpack and set up thing again! Get real Casa Ybel. Sorry, as a Florida resident ( and native) I don't play that game. Deceptive and sneaky. Try that on tourists and snowbirds...not on Florida residents. We are on to your game.

We just stayed at Casa Ybel for four nights. It was a last minute trip, and we got a really good rate - 1 night free when you spend 4. We were in a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo that was part of the Hilton Resort time share program. Note that we are not Hilton members, but it was available. The resort has been completely rehabbed after the hurricane 3 years ago. The apartment felt brand new. It was spacious, well appointed, and well equipped. It had a washer/dryer, which was great. Also had a very nice screened in lanai from which you could walk right out to the beach. There was a great pool, kiddie pool, and hot tub on the property. Pool was adjacent to the bar, so you could get drinks and lunch. Overall, it was great, but there were a few weird policies which were a pain. First, beach towels are all chipped and you are limited to two a day. If you don't return them at the end of the day, you get charged $20 per towel. Honestly, two towels aren't really enough if you want one to sit on, one for your bottom half, and one for your top half or hair. Second, you have to pay $40 a day for beach chairs and umbrellas. I mean, it's a BEACH resort! You should get beach chairs! Third, there is a disconnect between the Casa Ybel resort rooms and the Hilton condos. For example, we called the night before we left to ask for a late check out. The desk agent told us that they could see no one was coming in the next day, but since they weren't Hilton staff, they couldn't give permission for a late check out. The Hilton staff was gone for the day, so we had to call the next morning. And, then they only gave us until 11 even though they admitted that the room wasn't being used for the next two nights. I feel like they easily could have given us until noon, which is all we asked for. SO....overall a great facility on a beautiful beach. Just be aware of some of the strange policies. We would go again and bring our own towels!
