Room was incredibly clean but needed more light. Beds were very comfortable with nice coverings and pillows. Elevator was weird in the lobby — type usually seen on outside of houses without indoor elevators. It didn’t work and there didn’t seem to be any plans for repair. We were there for two nights because of flight cancelling mega snow storm— also coldest weather in Ft Myers in 16 years. Our room had no heat. We were also able to enter unlocked exterior halway door late at night— security risk.

We stayed for two nights. There were four of us — two adults and two teenage daughters. During check-in, I requested a room on the second floor, which was granted. However, I immediately regretted this decision. As we arrived on the second floor with our luggage, near our assigned room, we saw a large group of teenagers shouting, laughing loudly, and banging on each other’s doors. We didn’t even enter our room. Instead, we went straight to the front desk and asked to be moved to a room on the first floor to get away from the noise. I explained to the front desk clerk that the group upstairs was already making a lot of noise and that I didn’t believe they would quiet down by 10–11 PM, when we planned to go to bed. We needed a full night’s sleep, as we had to wake up at 6 AM the next morning. The front desk clerk informed me that several baseball teams were staying at the hotel for a competition. She also mentioned that she had already spoken with their coaches to ask them to keep the noise level down. This made it clear to me that someone — likely another guest not associated with the teams — had already complained about the noise before our arrival. The clerk said she had no other double-bed rooms available and noted that another man who checked in right after us took the last double-bed room on the first floor. I asked what could be done if there was noise at night and what their noise policy and “quiet hours” were. She couldn’t answer questions about quiet hours but said she would talk to the coaches again. The noise on the second floor was constant, but around 10 PM (when we were in bed), it became unbearable. Younger boys started running, stomping, screaming, yelling, laughing, etc. I went to the front desk and asked what could be done. The clerk informed us that another baseball team had just returned from their competition, which was causing the noise. I told her that “returning from competition” didn’t justify the amount of noise this team was making. She said she couldn’t hear it from where she was. Of course not — the noise was on the second floor, and the front desk is located on the first floor! I asked her to come with me to the second floor so she could see and hear the situation herself, but she refused. She said she would talk to the coaches again. I left and tried to get some sleep. Around 11 PM, I guess another team returned from their competition round, causing another wave of screaming, yelling, and laughing. I opened our door and saw young boys (around 8–10 years old) running between rooms, dragging stuff, laughing, and yelling. A couple of adults — a man and a woman, possibly parents or coaches — were with them. The woman was especially disrespectful to other occupants of the second floor (not related to the baseball teams). She was having a loud discussion about some issues with other team members. Rather than going inside rooms to talk quietly, they stood by their doors and yelled back and forth. I politely asked them to please keep their voices down. The woman got agitated by my request and shouted angrily, “Go to bed.” The younger boys laughed, finding it funny. What kind of example is she setting for her children or athletes? I went to the front desk again while the woman, man, and boys continued making noise on the second floor. I complained again. The clerk started blaming me for requesting the second floor. She said if we had been on the first floor, we wouldn’t have had any problems. I told her that if she had informed us that most of the rooms on the second floor were occupied by kids from the baseball team, we would have refused the second floor immediately. She didn’t warn us, even though she already knew about the noise before our check-in and had given warnings to the coaches. She said the only thing she could offer us was a king-bed room on the first floor. I explained that there are four of us and we wouldn’t fit on one bed. I asked if she could provide two king-bed rooms. She said she could only do that if we paid for the second room. I asked why we had to pay for the second room. It’s not our fault that the hotel couldn’t provide a quiet and comfortable environment. She responded that king rooms are more expensive and that we had only paid for one room. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She said she was the supervisor and that there was no one else I could speak to at the moment. She told me I could speak to a manager at 7 AM the next morning if I wished, but she couldn’t do anything else right then. We refused to move to the king-bed room because, first of all, there is no way four people can sleep in one bed, and second, my husband would not share a bed with our teenage daughters. Somehow, we managed to stay two nights at this hotel. We did not speak to the manager the next morning because we had plans and left before 7 AM. We also did not move to another hotel for the second night because, as mentioned, we were busy the entire next day and didn’t have time to check out and relocate. I want to give a thumbs down to the front desk staff for being unhelpful and unwilling to accommodate us. Instead of trying to fix the situation, they tried to place the blame on us, the guests. In addition to all of the above, the room had a terrible odor, and the air conditioner was extremely loud.

My stay here was horrible! The hallway carpet is filthy and smell sour. The bathtub had mold in it. And the worst of all, we saw a roach on the nightstand! I travel frequently for work and have never seen a roach in another hotel room. Absolutely awful and I will never go back to this hotel!
