We are all here currently for a wedding and reception this Friday, and I arrived last Sunday to get a head start on everything and help make sure the week went smoothly. The reception is scheduled for this hotel. Unfortunately, our experience so far has been extremely disappointing and stressful. On the first day, we scheduled a shuttle to pick up one of our wedding guests at the airport. The shuttle never showed up. I had to call the front desk, and while they apologized, our guest was left sitting at the airport for an hour waiting for transportation that had been arranged through the hotel. The following morning, we were awakened by loud banging at approximately 3:00 a.m. Then, at 5:20 a.m., the sound of trees being cut down woke us up again. When we opened the door and asked what was going on, the work continued, and shortly afterward, leaf blowers started as well. This was incredibly disruptive, especially during a week when we are here for such an important family event. Then today, things became even more concerning. The maid of honor was contacted and told that the roof was collapsing and that they needed to move rooms. We were shocked. How is something like this happening at a hotel where a wedding party is staying? They had an upgraded room with a king bed and were moved into a room with two double beds, which is obviously a significant downgrade and has added even more frustration. Most importantly, I now have a bride who is extremely upset and worried about whether the building is safe and whether something could happen during the wedding reception. No bride should have to spend the days leading up to her wedding worrying about whether the roof is going to collapse. We came here excited to celebrate, spend time with our family and friends, and enjoy this very special occasion. Instead, we have had transportation problems, disruptive construction and landscaping work in the early morning hours, and now a serious concern involving the condition of the hotel. I am sorry, but this has created an enormous amount of stress during a week that should be about celebrating. We expect an explanation of what is being done to ensure the property is safe, and what the hotel intends to do to address the significant inconvenience and disruption our bride and wedding party has experienced. We sincerely hope this situation can be addressed immediately so that the remainder of the wedding celebration can be enjoyable and, most importantly, safe for everyone.

Havana Cabana is a nice resort. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nice and clean and very comfortable. You won’t be disappointed.
