We had agreed on a three-day stay, but on the second day, they entered our room without knocking and told us we had to leave. There was a short person at the reception—who looked like a manager—but they were completely unhelpful and just walked away in the middle of the conversation. On the first night, we found small hairs in the bed.

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5) The Blue Flamingo is a unique and fun property with a lot to offer the right guest. If you’re looking for a lively resort atmosphere, this place has plenty to enjoy. There are two pools, a DJ at one of the pools, putting greens, bocce, outdoor games, a fun food truck, weekend barbecue, a great bar, and a convenient shuttle into Old Town. It’s easy to spend a day here between sightseeing and really enjoy yourself. I also want to recognize one of the bartenders, whose name I unfortunately can’t remember. She was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and provided excellent customer service throughout my stay. As a local Key West resident, I stayed here for three nights after packing up my home following its sale. I booked through Priceline and was specifically looking for a quiet place to unwind during a stressful time. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the experience I had. When I checked in late, I explained my situation and asked if a quiet room was available. I didn’t feel my request was really acknowledged, and the front desk customer service left me disappointed. I also encountered confusion at checkout regarding fees, particularly parking charges that I didn’t believe had been clearly communicated. It took reaching out to the general manager, Joel, to resolve everything. I do want to commend Joel for taking the time to listen to my concerns and making things right. He handled the situation professionally and genuinely cared about resolving the issues, which I greatly appreciated. One thing future guests should know is that this is not a quiet property. If you’re looking for peace and relaxation, this may not be the best fit. However, if you’re looking for a vibrant, energetic resort with lots of activities, music, and a social atmosphere, especially for younger travelers or groups of friends, you’ll probably have a great time. Overall, I had mixed feelings about my stay. The property itself is creative, fun, and offers a lot of entertainment, but I believe the front desk customer service and communication about fees could be improved. Thanks to Joel’s efforts, my stay ended on a much better note, and I appreciate that he took the time to make things right. For those reasons, I’m giving the Blue Flamingo 3 out of 5 stars.
