The Garden Hotel South Beach

Avoid this place like the plague!!! Booked the terrace room 6 months ago with a deposit, even called the hotel to confirm after booking it. Mid-flight from a family visit to Connecticut, travelling to Miami I get an email saying the room isn't available. They then extremely kindly offered to downgrade us (my fiance and I, who are on an engagement holiday to Miami) with no compensation initially!!! Admittedly after pushing them for an offer of compensation they did offer some, and the staff at the hotel did both offer some alternative rooms (none of the same standard as the terrace - we wanted loads of outdoor space to relax) - so my thanks to them for trying. However, nothing short of shameful to be messed around last minute. We cancelled our room, got a refund and booked elsewhere. I highly recommend avoiding Kenmore Village!!! Don't risk it.

The hotel's location is spectacular, a few steps away we had everything we liked, restaurants, excellent food, shops etc. The beach is 2 blocks away The hotel service is very friendly. I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT SABRINA'S ATTENTION; SHE REALLY KNOWS HOW TO RESOLVE ANY SITUATION WITH PROFESSIONALISM AND EXCELLENT CHARISMA AND HOSPITALITY.

A week ago, my friends and I stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely uncomfortable and disturbing. During our stay, one of the employees told us that he was Venezuelan. I do not remember his name, but his repeated looks and attention made my friends and me feel extremely uncomfortable throughout our stay. We actually mentioned this situation to the woman at the front desk when we checked out. Because we were visiting from another country and were here with our female friends, we genuinely felt uneasy and chose to remain polite rather than confront the situation directly. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was the repeated attention we received from some employees while we were simply trying to relax by the pool. They would repeatedly approach us, start conversations, ask personal questions, ask for our names or social media accounts, and even ask whether we wanted to go out with them at night. How is it appropriate for a hotel employee to approach female guests who are simply relaxing by the pool and ask whether they want to go out at night? We came to the hotel as guests to enjoy our vacation, not to receive unwanted personal attention from employees. From our perspective, this was extremely disrespectful and crossed a professional boundary. We eventually became so uncomfortable that we stopped using the pool altogether and went to the pool at another hotel where one of our friends was staying. We also felt uncomfortable with employees asking for our personal social media accounts and attempting to establish contact with us outside of the normal guest-employee relationship. We came to this hotel for a few days to relax and enjoy our vacation, but instead, we left feeling uncomfortable and uneasy because of these interactions. What was especially concerning to us was that there did not seem to be proper management or supervision of the employees. Two days before we left, I specifically asked where the manager was because I wanted to discuss our concerns, and I was told that the manager had not arrived yet. Later that evening, when I saw the employees leaving, I went back to the lobby and asked about the manager again, but nobody was able to give me a clear answer. This was very disappointing. The experience affected us so much that we even locked our doors while sleeping at night. We felt as though we were being watched or closely observed, and whether or not that was actually the intention, the fact that we felt this uncomfortable during our stay is already a serious concern. Guests should be able to relax and feel respected in their hotel without worrying about unwanted attention from employees. I sincerely hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and provides better supervision and professional-boundary training for its staff. Employees should understand that approaching female guests repeatedly, asking for personal information or social media accounts, and inviting guests to go out at night can make guests feel very uncomfortable, especially when they are simply trying to enjoy their vacation. This was supposed to be a relaxing trip, but unfortunately, we left feeling uncomfortable and unsafe. Vergogna. Davvero unacceptable.
