My husband requested and paid for a room with a pool view. We arrive and that’s when things went downhill
They send us up to our room, complete confusion, we go into the stairwell to enter the room and our “pool view” was suspect at best, if you leaned far to the left you could get a glimpse of the pool.
Luckily for us you could get to the kitchen from the stairs where we were hauled up in all week so had sweet aroma of seafood the whole time,
The tv was broken and after trying to have it repaired for over 2 hours of going to the front desk and being told someone will be right up I think they finally realized I would keep coming back so finally they brought up a new one.
No ice machine to access which not a big deal, once again I go to the front desk to ask where can we find ice, I was told someone will bring it to our room in a few minutes. Once again after an hour we just gave up and just got cups of ice from the bar all week. The power was off and on all morning one day which of course they would theoretically have control over until I looked at previous reviews, it was actually a regular occurrence there & it would get a little warm in the room when it was 90 degrees outside.
We went for my husband’s 50th birthday, we were set to go to Mexico that week but some unrest went down there a few days before we were due to fly out so we switched everything to South Beach. Of course we overpaid for everything because it was such short notice but after staying here I definitely would have rather taken my chances on Mexico.

Cool vintage hotel, I always enjoy staying here when I'm passing through Miami. Very clean and comfortable. Easy check-in and check out. Friendly staff and of course it is super close to the beach.

Start with the good. 1. Location (to include proximity to great restaurants) 2. If you are a voyeur you get to hear the adjoining room guests getting busy. And that is it...
Bad: Broken elevator. Dirty. Mold in shower. Broke missing tiles, 1/2in deep holes in floor from the missing tile. Bed mattress needed replaced about a decade ago. I have never stayed in an hourly rate hotel but this is what I imagine one would look like.
