Port of the Islands Resort is just outside of Naples on the TaMiami Trail. There is plenty of free parking, but check you use the hotel parking lot, not a marina parking area.
Reception was efficient and friendly. Wow left the keys on check out as there was no one to be found near reception.
Our room was in a bungalow/studio block, not in the main building. There was a bit of a marina view through the parked cars. Outside and inside seating. Kitchenette with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hob and grill. Comfortable beds.
Shower room had soft towels and adequate toiletries. Plenty of hot water.
Everywhere was clean and tidy. No evidence of stains and bugs described in other reviews.,
Evening meal in the onsite restaurant was good. Service rapid and food tasty enough. Menu of North American staples and Vietnamese dishes. Reasonable value.
Resort facilities seemed ok but not tested in our overnight stay. Proximity to the nature of the 1000 Islands and Everglades is great. Boat trips from the neighbouring marina was excellent.
Convenient and comfortable stay in the Everglades.

I am extremely disappointed with this resort. My reservation clearly stated that it was prepaid and fully guaranteed, yet upon arrival I was told I needed to pay additional money to check in. I showed the receptionist my confirmation email and even called the 1-800 number listed on the reservation, where they confirmed I did not owe anything further.
Instead of handling the situation professionally, the receptionist became extremely irate, yelled and screamed at me in front of my child, then stormed off and refused to continue speaking with me. After the customer service representative spoke with him, they ended up issuing me a full refund.
I am only giving one star because I cannot believe a resort would leave a woman and her child without a hotel room on Memorial Day weekend. Completely unacceptable customer service and an awful experience.

Location was ok. Atmosphere was good, pool was nice. WiFi was a joke, nothing comes in on TV. Rooms were old and needed updated. Mattresses need replaced, floors are dirty (don’t walk barefoot). Shower curtain was disgustingly (had to find a maid to get replaced). No one works the front desk EVER. Location was quiet.
