After reading some of the recent negative reviews before we travelled, I was a bit apprehensive about staying here, but after spending two weeks at Orange Lake Resort (13th–27th July 2026), I honestly don’t recognise many of the complaints. The whole resort was spotless throughout our stay. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and everywhere we went was clean and tidy. Every member of staff we dealt with was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment, which was excellent – spacious, immaculately clean, smelled fresh when we arrived, and equipped with everything we needed. The beds were incredibly comfortable (almost too comfortable!) and the air conditioning worked brilliantly in the Florida heat. Being able to park our hire car directly outside our apartment was another big plus. It wasn’t perfect, though. The resort is enormous, so expect to drive or use the shuttle buses to get around. We also found the lazy river a little underwhelming. It looks great in the photos, but it’s only around knee deep, so you really need an inflatable, which you have to hire. We visited once and didn’t feel the need to go back. The location is good rather than amazing. A car is definitely essential. Most of the major attractions took us around 30–40 minutes to reach, but Orlando traffic is relentless. We sat in queues every single day regardless of the time. There are roadworks nearby at the moment, but from what we experienced, the sheer volume of traffic was the bigger issue. Overall, we’d happily stay here again. Orange Lake offers the space and comfort of a villa, while giving you access to resort-style facilities if you want them. Despite the traffic, I also think it’s better located than many of the independent villas further out. We’d certainly recommend it.

Didn't expect to see so much go wrong at this tier of a hotel. Upon arrival - system was down, which led to an extended delay registering. Finally at my room at 2am. Stood 3 days and no room service. Bait n switch method for 'Free Breakfast' after purchasing the package which included breakfast. Customer rep at Lazy River reluctant to refund money when pool was shut down for baby poop. I could go on and on. NOT worth the money.

I've been to a few resorts in the Orlando area and I have to say this one is by far the BIGGEST one I've ever been too. Make sure you have your own car. Other than that not one single complaint about this place. It's like a small city and has all of the amenities you could ask for. Not to mention its basically right next to Walt Disney World. Lots of eating options right off of the resort. Trust me book it if you cand and you like the price. I'll be back for sure
