Fairfield inn & suites by Marriott St.Augustine

I was so happy with my experience here. If 4.5 was available I would have chosen that, but couldn't see fit to round down to just 4. I had read mostly the reviews with 4 or less stars, because that is what I always do, I want to know the negatives, and I was a little concerned, but then noticed the hotel had just been renovated. Well, I am so glad we stayed here. We got lucky with being able to reserve a night with points for a really good deal. I think the woman who checked us in was Gwen, I hope I have her name correct, and she was great. She was very welcoming, acknowledged our status, and gave us a room we were very happy with. We stayed in a King suite and I recommend it. My husband was really happy with the coffee available when we arrived, a nice touch, and I was happy they had hot chocolate available. The room was clean and well appointed. Bed was on the firm side, let's just say it was not a Westin mattress, but sufficiently comfortable. Air conditioning was a little annoying, it is one of those that blows hot or cold you can't choose just AC or just heat, and a little noisy, the typical AC noise with the units by the window. It conditioned the room well though, and no mal odors. Breakfast was really good. Such a treat to get bacon at a Fairfield and they had bacon the morning we were there. Breakfast area was very clean and well stocked. Pool area is small, but fairly typical. I didn't go in, but I did touch the water and it was a nice temperature. I would absolutely stay here again if you just need a convenient place off of I95. Not a far drive to Jacksonville, and of course not too far from downtown St. Augustine. Side note: I noticed there was a St. Augustine trolley shuttle stop in front of the hotel. If I understood correctly. if you have hop on hop off tickets they pick you up in the morning to take you to the trolley and there are multiple times throughout the day you can get the shuttle to return. Double check me on it if you are interested.

We have stayed here twice before, but it's been several years. Great location. We stayed 1 night. We were in Room 329 and the room next door, 331, had a TV blasting all night. You could hear it from the hallway ,also. At 2 am we could not go back to sleep. I even tried rarely used ear plugs. About 4 am I went downstairs and the desk attendant was resting, so I took some items out to the car. I had to ring the bell since it was late and she woke up. I explained the situation but she wasn't too interested. I mainly wanted to alert the staff that if someone else was in 329 they would probably have the same issue . She said 331 was there 4 more nights. We were leaving, but wanted to help the next guest. She tossed the paper with the room number and said no grab and go breakfast, we would have to wait. We weren't waiting over 2 hours for breakfast and left. A bit disappointed. But, Marriott can't make guests be considerate of others, I guess.

Stayed here while exploring St. Augustine. Excellent place to stay. Staff were wonderful and very personable and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent each day with a large variety. The rooms were very clean. They are undergoing renovations, but I never noticed any bothersome noise. The front desk staff were very helpful in booking tours and trips for us and making recommendations for dining. I cannot say enough good things about this place and these folks----give them a try!!!!
