Gross, horrible, crack head nasty place

To be fair, it appeared that the new owner was beginning renovations the day after we checked in. There are railroad tracks within 100 yards of the hotel and trains ran through the night. The pool was filled in and covered. The outside of the hotel looked like the place rented by the hour. The rooms were painted with decent tile flooring. All the furniture looked like it has been there since the place was first built. The bathroom was exceedingly small with little water pressure. No vending machines and one ice machine looked like the first prototype. It was livable but not a relaxing experience.

It’s a small, local owned, family run hotel, so the hospitality was top notch. The owner was very friendly and extremely accommodating. The building is definitely dated and a bit sketchy looking, but there’s security cameras everywhere which alleviates that need for a feeling of security. The location is also nice as we were trying to find a place that’s close to a lot of activities. This place is 2 miles from the fort, fountain of youth, St. Augustine welcome center, and the main road where tourists do window shopping, etc. The place doesn’t “look” like a 5 star hotel, and that’s okay because that’s why it’s on the cheaper side. The bed was comfortable. The Ac and hot water worked. Hospitality was A1. Couldn’t ask for a better budget inn. 5 stars all around. Would definitely book again.
