Hampton Inn St Petersburg, FL

We stayed at this Holiday Inn location for five nights during our vacation to attend the Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training games in Clearwater, Florida. Overall, our stay was just “meh.” It met our basic needs, but we would probably look for a different place if we return in the future. The room itself was fine, but the shower curtain had quite a bit of black mold on it. To their credit, it was replaced quickly when we requested it. The pool area was okay, but the water was extremely cold and the hot tub was so hot that it felt almost burning when entering. The most disappointing part of the pool area was that the disability lift was not working. We actually saw a young man with a broken pelvis who was hoping to use it and was clearly disappointed that it was inoperable. The hotel is located on a major road with plenty of nearby businesses and places to visit, but the immediate area felt a bit sketchy. Lastly, the breakfast. It’s the same basic buffet you find at many lower-budget hotels, but this one costs $15. With plenty of good breakfast spots nearby offering better value, we’d recommend skipping it. Overall, it worked for our trip, but there are likely better options in the area.

When we arrived at the hotel the front door was not working - had to bang on it to get someone to open it - that should have been a sign Hotel is worn and dirty - rooms and bathrooms need a total makeover. Bed was very comfortable though

I walked in the room and immediately seen a roach crawling on the bed. absolutely disgusting and everything was dusty. Please Do better.
