Casa Ybel Resort

Laid back resort with great ocean views for all rooms. The resort is laid back and staff is average. Rooms get nice and cool and have great ocean views. Bathroom in room is just ok and shower doesn’t really have any water pressure. Living room furniture is ok but wouldn’t want to have to hang out there long. We were unlucky with the no see ums being really bad so come prepared with bug spray and know that the screens on the balconies I don’t think keep them out. Overall the stay was great but just don’t expect to be at a real fancy place. The beach is beautiful and renting the beach chairs and umbrellas is worth it.

My wife and I just got back from my trip today with my skin sores from bugs and insects bites after my stay at Casa Ybel resorts. We had no where to hide they are inside the rooms by the pool and at the beach. All areas are infested with them. They bites and leave my skin with serious multiple painful and fearful skin rashes. We spent 4 terrible days and nights. They had a 2 days fee cancellation Nobody will tell you in advance about the insects bites but about the cancellation fees We bought all kinds of repellent and wear long sleeve and long pants all day, it didn’t matter. It ruins our vacation I regret choosing that resort.

I recently stayed in a 1 bedroom (2 queens) suite. The unit was very clean, nicely decorated and had a perfect view of the beach. It had two private vanities that were separated by a main shower/bath/toilet area. This worked out perfectly for two women. The living room was spacious with a full kitchen. It also had a screened in porch with direct access to the beach. These units are elevated with only 2 floors and no elevator. This was my first time staying at Casa and would highly recommend the property. I also recommend the Thistle Lodge for fine dining. I have been there three times in the past, always delicious. There was a few things that did hinder our trip. The Sanibel/Captiva area is having problems with noseeum bugs from spring to fall, since Hurricane Ian, because of this I would probably do future trips in March, which I have done in the past and the weather was much more enjoyable than mid August. The bugs are no fault of Casa, but I wanted others to be aware when booking. Other than that it was a very nice trip and employees are very helpful.
