My family and I were going on a cruise on Friday so we decided to drive in on Thursday from Clarksville, TN to get a good nights rest for the vacation. We were extremely tired after the 10 drive and were eager to check in and get to bed. We chose the hotel because the listing said that it had been recently renovated, although we normally stay at Marriott we decided to give this a try because the price was better. After checking in to our room, once we entered, our 10 year old son said that we needed to check for bedbugs. He has NEVER said that before. Frustrated from being tired, I told him to not say that and there were no bed bugs. He was getting ready to get in the shower and I pulled the covers back on our bed and sat down to relax. I checked a couple of emails and happened to look down by my ankle. It looked like a black spec of lint which I thought may have come from my socks and I went to swipe it off. Just as I was about to make contact with it, it SPRUNG off of my leg onto the bed. I went to kill it and it spring even higher to another spot and then onto the floor. Thats when I realized the room had fleas. A quick google review search also reveled a bed bug problem as well. I informed my spouse and we immediately packed up and went to check out. Surprisingly, after informing the attendant at the front desk, he simply apologized and attempted to hand us a different room key. We said oh no, we won't be staying here. I apologized to our son and told him that I was thankful for the LORD laying that on his heart and for the split second that I looked down at my ankle. The last thing we would want is to have taken these with us and have infestation at home or even on the cruise. I would avoid this hotel at all costs, you have been warned.
