HAMPTON SUITES JEKYLL ISLAND

When we arrived we were met with a very unprofessional front desk person named "bae" that actually told us to "go away". We went to see how far the beach was to our room and when we came back out she was sitting out front and asked for my number so she could call me when my room was ready. She never called for that reason. Instead as we were getting checked in at 3 she started asking for a tip through a QR code and we weren't even checked in yet. Later that day she called and text my phone to come to the front desk and say there is sand in my shower so she could give me some of my money back for me to send her money through cashapp or venmo which I told her I don't have either one of those. Her words were "this was her come up". The whole situation gave me anxiety to the point I was uncomfortable. I didn't want to leave my room to go through the lobby and I couldn't let housekeeping come in because I didn't know what would happen. All together this was a horrible vacation as far as this place goes. We will never return. Almost $1500 i could have spent somewhere else. I contacted corporate then called the hotel and spoke with a front desk manager about the situation. I sent screenshots of the messages from the lady to her. I was informed the GM would call me the next day to make it right and he never called. I was then told he would call me the following day and still never received a call. They obviously don't care about the people that stay there.

The location is fabulous! A short walk through the covered boardwalk and the private beach is yours. The room was a large size and staff was all wonderful. Definitely wil return. Kids loved the pool and didn’t want to leave. Toilet was running in the night so we didn’t report but otherwise perfect stay.

Check in was a breeze, which is always nice. The room was clean and the AC kept it cool and comfortable. The breakfast was average
