Best Western PLUS Historic District

Hotel next to the staircase that goes down to the River. Practically in the city center. Parking for 38 dollars. We arrived at 12:30 and check-in was at 16:00; if we had wanted a room earlier we would have had to pay 30 dollars.... hotel with rooms that open directly onto the street on multiple floors. Ours was on the ground floor far from the reception and in front of the stairs leading to the River, the internet connection there was non-existent.... modern rooms with a large bathroom with a low ceiling and dark, dark gray colored walls. Being a facility of this type, there was a bit of dirt outside the rooms. Breakfast with few sweet options (muffins), scrambled eggs with bacon, potatoes and waffles to make, hard-boiled eggs, cereal with milk and bulk yogurt. So quite basic.

We stayed here in 2024 and it was great, so much so we booked here again when we found out we were coming back in July 2026. I even recommended it to several other families who were also coming to Savannah at the same time as us. This trip was awful! The lady working the desk at check in and one other lady I encountered were the only nice and helpful ones. When we first got to our room it was pretty warm so we turned down the thermostat and unpacked a bit and headed out to walk around and grab something to eat. When we got back 5 hours later it was still way too warm in the room. I went down and spoke to the lady at the desk who offered to move us to a different room. We switched rooms at 10 at night. The new room never got cold the 5 nights we were there, last time we stayed here the room got cold. Our room was only cleaned/trash taken/beds made/new towels brought 1 time during our 5 night stay. We had to go down to the desk echo evening when we got back to get towels. They didn't seem to care our room never got cleaned. Our tub did not drain properly, told the front desk, didn't even acknowledge we said anything. The main lamp in the room that the switch controlled did not work. I felt terrible recommending this hotel to our friends whose rooms also did not get cleaned during their 6 night stay. Breakfast definitely was not as good as the last time we stayed either. I don't know what has changed so much in 2 years but I definitely won't be back to this location if we return to Savannah. And the biggest this was the elevator, it was terrifying! It took for ever for the door to close after you got in and then when it got to the third floor it would grind and moan and start shaking so bad before the door would open. My 12 year old was terrified to get in and ride it. When I asked about it at the front desk I was told, they didn't really know and that their general manager would be in on Monday so hopefully they would find something out. Definitely do not recommend this hotel anymore

Dear BW Savannah Management, I wanted to share feedback regarding my recent stay at your property. Sadly, my experience at BW Savannah was very disappointing. The two staff members at the front desk did not seem adequately prepared, and the check-in process was extremely slow. Upon entering my room, I found that the accommodations were well below the standard I expected. To make matters worse, the guests in the room next door were yelling throughout the entire night. The noise was excessive and made it nearly impossible to get any rest. I was genuinely surprised that the disturbance continued for so long without resolution. I would like to note that the morning staff were pleasant and courteous, and I appreciated their professionalism. However, the positive interaction with them was not enough to offset the overall experience. Unfortunately, my stay at this location did not meet expectations, and I left feeling deeply disappointed. I hope you will review these concerns and take steps to improve the guest experience moving forward.
