Desoto Beach Bed & Breakfast

We stayed at the DeSoto Beach Bed and Breakfast Sept. 15-17, 2026. We knew we would enjoy our stay based on other reviews and we were not disappointed. It was truly a relaxing experience. Furnishings included Scottish antiques, walls featured painted murals done by SCAD students. We loved the Tybee Suite. Amenities were provided and our inn keeper was fascinating with his knowledge of Scottish and Georgian history and helpful with questions we had about the island. We loved his kilt and his bagpipes! Breakfasts featured imported butters and cheese, homemade Belgium waffles along with fresh fruit, eggs, sausage and bacon. Fresh juice and delicious coffee started out the day! Afternoon included a snack tray with cheese, crackers and imported salami slices. It was easy to walk out to the beach to capture a stunning sunrise photo and comb the beach for shells. We highly recommend and hope to return.

We planned our first anniversary at Tybee Island, and we did not plan to have such a wonder experience at the Bed and Breakfast. The innkeeper Rick is a wealth of knowledge. He shared so much about the history of Georgia and shared great activities for us to get into. He offered to show us great kayaking place, gave us a map of treasures in Savannah, and I would run out of space to type up how he cares for the property. He collects soaps, breakfast item, linens and more that show a deep care for guest. I would share more about him but there is no greater way to experience such a wonderful person than to meet him in person. If you get to hear him play the bagpipes, please share about the experience! The location is in a quieter side of the island. The Butler does get quite a bit of traffic noise. The beach access being so close to the property is great. It is also a great walking distance from some good restaurants. Parking is a bit tight for the B&B guest, but it is great to be able to walk everywhere since is cost to park most places on the island. I think Desoto could be better supporting the Bed and Breakfast with some new carpet or deep cleaning of the carpet in the Butler. I do appreciate that the B&B is kid and pet free for a quieter and more relaxing experience.

Rick at DeSoto Beach Bed & Breakfast was absolutely wonderful! He was incredibly knowledgeable, generous, and professional throughout our stay. He greeted us warmly each morning and prepared a delicious breakfast, which was such a nice way to start the day. He also prepared a cheese platter for us each evening—such a thoughtful and special touch! Rick’s hospitality truly added to our experience and made our stay even more enjoyable. We highly recommend DeSoto Beach Bed & Breakfast and especially appreciate everything Rick did to make us feel welcome!
