Equus Hotel & Marina Tower

The Equus Hotel felt good from the moment we booked it. The parking attendant, the bartender, the cleaning staff, and the front desk manager were all filled with genuine aloha. Our special needs were addressed without hesitation. The rooms were clean, and the attention to detail was impeccable. The horsey theme was fun and very much enjoyed by my partner, a horse woman. MIRACLE: Just after checking out, we went to have lunch before flying back home. I reached into my pocket to get my credit card. My wallet was missing! Given that we were on a deadline to catch the plane, timing was critical. No boarding pass, no Real ID. No money. This could have cost me hundreds of dollars. We frantically searched through every bag and every pocket of the rental car, at least 5-6 times. We then called The Equus to see if anyone had seen it or turned it in. Nothing yet. Then... after sufficient fear and self-humiliation, the phone rang. It was Puka, on staff at The Equus. His shift had ended, and he had gone home before I discovered the loss. Puka said he had found the wallet and wanted to return it. We met him at his home in a few minutes and retrieved the wallet. I begged him, and begged him to accept a substantial reward for his honesty and integrity. He repeatedly refused the reward. We will be staying at the Equus on our next visit to Honolulu. Aloha aina. This hotel is lovely! I cannot recommend this location enough. Throughout our time in Waikiki, we stayed at multiple places within a span of a week, and the Equus was the only place with PURE ALOHA. Rene was a gem! Thank you staff as well for being so kind! Best sleep on Oahu yet.

We had so much fun staying here. The staff were very helpful in recommending places to eat and things to see. The outdoor bar/restaurant was delightful, and we especially enjoyed talking with Anita and the wonderful Pianola. Rene was also wonderful! People helped us with luggage also. We went to a polo match and saw The Equus player.
