Vista Waikoloa

We stayed in G201. The unit has a good layout for a family of 4. This unit wasn’t the kind of place we would book again, but it also was not terrible. It was pretty spacious, with a big dining table. It had a nice patio table outside and some lounge chairs to enjoy a view of the golf course. Helpful parking spot and easy in/out to the unit. Quiet area and close to the Queens market area and other shops within walking distance. Close to the beach and other hotels. The pool area was pretty good, including 2 hot tubs. These were fun. The patio furniture seemed a little dated. The furnishings at the condo were pretty good and the kitchen was well stocked. But everything felt slightly dated. A lot of rental places in Hawaii are like that. Those were the good aspects. There were many other things that were just mediocre or low quality, show neglect. The door lock just didn’t make sense and was frustrating. It worked and seemed sturdy but requires some unnecessary turning. It is a KEY. The screen door off the master bedroom was not attached. The refrigerator door was not broken, but also did not shut completely. The twin beds mattresses felt pretty cheap. The master bed was ok, but the floor felt bumpy. Not sure how to describe that but it didn’t feel flat. Both rooms were spacious. The light switch in the living romo did not work. Some important electrical outlets, also did not work. Frustrating. Lighting was a little dingy. Water pressure in the showers was low. Maybe this is a regional thing, but we were missing our showers at home. The small bathroom shower made noise as the water was coming out. Not a luxury feeling. The shampoo and conditioner was clearly the cheapest they could buy; Vo5. The gym looked depressing, so we did not even go there.

The things we like about this place: There is nice hot water and good water pressure, It's nice to have the washer and dryer, The floor plan is large, Plenty of towels, The property grounds are well kept and it is very quiet, The pool and hot tub are very nice, Kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans etc., Great location. Things we did not like about this place: Both toilets drip and do a sort of half flush about every hour. The host did offer to have them looked at, but we didn’t have time to wait around and didn’t want unknown persons in the unit without us present. The air conditioner makes a whining sound every time it comes on or goes off. Both the master bedroom and guest room have portable a/c units in the windows, creating an ugly duck tape/cardboard/huge tube mess to look at with sloppy curtains. The shower had a large clump of hair on the drain and after subsequent cleaning by me, more in the corners. The sheets are stained. There is only one lounge chair on the patio (not 2 as in the photos). There are many lights that either don't work or the lightbulb is burned out making the unit extremely dark feeling. Two smoke alarms are missing. We weren't impressed by the overall rundown feeling of this condo. I think the owner could spend more time performing regular home maintenance to make this place better and get a better cleaning person. We would not rent again. The owner, Shane, is very quick to respond to questions.

Hubby and I stayed for 6 nights in E301. Everything about this condo is outstanding. Very large, a lot of room to spread out. Rooms are large including wraparound lanai. Breathtaking views of the mountains and wonderful glimpse of the bay. Easy access to the beach via the Marriott property. Comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and laundry. We had an issue with the tv. Property manager came within the hour and resolved easily, no other issues. Appreciate assigned parking spot and elevator! Location location! Easy to access all areas of island. This is a beautiful property. Only suggestion is to add more hangers. Highly recommend and would stay again.
