White Pine Lodge

Really disappointing customer service. Had to cancel our trip last minute due to a major family illness but didn’t receive any flexibility despite “having a heart”. We asked to move our dates but they wanted to charge hundreds more. After speaking with several staff members we were considering our options, then they called back and said they needed to “draw a line and let the room go”. They literally canceled our room and then charged us full price. Word of advice - get a refundable room because this business has no consideration for their guests and life circumstances.

Schweitzer is like skiing used to be. Granted we were midweek, so parking was free and only a short walk to the slopes. I think I would opt for taking the free shuttle from the base of the mountain on the weekends. Even if you arrived to the top parking lots before they were full, they are very tight and I'm guessing quite chaotic on the weekends. There is lodging on the mountain, but when we looked into it we weren't happy with the cancellation policy. I think it was 100% non-refundable if cancelled in less than 30 days. One never knows what can some up in life! Development has obviously occurred over many decades, but nothing looks decrepid or too pretentious. There's no fake village or folks strutting around trying to impress everyone. Other than skiers who were there for a competition that week, almost everyone we met on the lifts were local. Schweitzer is a great mountain to ski too. It has lots of variety, multiple orientations to facilitate avoiding the wind or following the sun. It is uncrowded and easy to get around. Most lifts are high speed. The views are fabulous and their grooming impeccable. We will definitely be returning!

Some of the best skiing I have ever experienced in my lifetime. Stayed here for 2 nights. Thoroughly enjoyed everything. The slopes offer a variety of levels for the whole family. The resort was amazing. Superb staff. So many memories were made when we were there and we cant wait to come back!
