Best Western Grant Park Hotel

The location was great. You were right downtown, across the street from Grant Park and near a ton of restaurants. The rooms were the issue. I stayed here during Independence Day weekend. The website claimed that the hotel had been remodeled in 2017, but it didn't seem to be that well done. My room was facing the front of the hotel. The windows let all of the outdoor noises come in. There was peeling wallpaper in the rooms. The air conditioning unit was inadequate and the feet of the unit were peeling and rusted. There were holes in the wall near one of the beds. The other bed was right underneath a sprinkler. The beds were comfortable though. One of the beds had no fitted sheet and instead was made up with four flat sheets and a thin blanket. The pressure in the shower head was crazy and water always sprayed everywhere. The shower curtain that was placed, was no help. The shower water was never hot and the drain was slow to drain the water out. The flow rate of the toilet was horrific. There was one ceiling light fixture in the room right above the door. By the beds, there were only lamps. The room was clean, and the TV was big. The WIFI worked great. There were two eateries attached to the hotel building and you received a discount when showing your room key. I ate at only Paris Baguettes and the food was good. The hotel itself, has no free breakfast. It did have lemon water and apples available. The room itself had mini fridges and there was a microwave in the lobby which I didn't need to use. All of the staff was friendly and tried their best to be helpful, including the valet. This was the cheapest option for the Holiday weekend which is why it was chosen but I definitely would not stay here again.

The location of this hotel was perfect for what we can for, but everything else was subpar. The rooms were filthy, bathroom was filled with mold and the hairdryer threw sparks in my face. I will never stay at a Best Western again. The price was way to high for the product we received. We did not receive any instruction on how to connect to the wifi and there was no food service available. Luckily we were close to a cafe.

My experience was very positive. From the start, the attention at check-in was quick and friendly. I also had no problems at the time of check-out, which was very practical as it only consisted of leaving the key card in a container. The room was spacious, comfortable and looked quite clean. It had a small living room with a sofa, a coffee table, a safe and a small refrigerator. We stayed five people on a family trip for 4 nights and 5 days and the stay was very pleasant. Every day the staff would fix the room, lay the beds and change the towels without problem. In addition, the staff service was always attentive; even when we requested additional towels, they helped us with a lot of kindness. Another plus is that there was no downside to ordering food by apps like Uber Eats, which made the stay more comfortable. The facilities were generally clean and it was noticeable that the hotel has recently been remodeled. The location is excellent. It is very close to several major Chicago tourist attractions, such as the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum and the Adler Planetarium, which can be reached by foot. In addition, there are many useful options around such as Eleven City Diner, Chipotle, a gas station, supermarket and even an Amazon Locker pickup point, which makes everything very convenient. As for breakfast, I personally did not get to consume it or see a direct option inside the hotel. They did offer promotions, such as 10% discounts at some nearby restaurants (e.g. Chinese food options), but they didn’t catch my eye, so I preferred to go out and look for better-known places on my own. As only details, in the bathroom area there was a bit of humidity on top, although it was not something that affected the stay due to the short time. We also noticed that the tub curtain moved easily when bathing, so it would be advisable to make them a little longer or heavier at the bottom to prevent them from opening. Overall, it is a highly recommended hotel, especially for family trips, for its comfort, cleanliness, good service and excellent location.
