Best Western Ashland House & Conference Center

This hotel is just plain nasty. Dirty rooms, laundry room, pool, parking lot, and hallways. Cracks all over the walls in the rooms, missing light bulbs, no smoke detector, exterior room door was able to be opened without a key, even with the deadbolt locked, just had to turn the handle. Bed linens and towels had stains on them. No hot water, garbage all over outside, in the laundry room and the pool bathroom. Dead mice in pool filter, dead crickets all over the hallways. Hallways constantly smelled like weed. Ice machine broken, filter on it was a nasty brown.

When I checked in the staff was nice. But when I went into my room. I was instantly disappointed. The tv kept coming in and out, the sink took 5 minutes to drain when I washed my hands, there were cigarette burns on the curtains, and it smelt like cigarette smoke very badly. I went to get a different room and again the staff was very understanding and quickly got me another room. This room was a lot better and the tv worked, and it smelt decent. I made sure to inform the staff that there was a cracked closet door mirror, a few areas where paint has chipped of the wall, and some what looks like little kid scribbling on one of the walls. The breakfast was decent but they didn’t offer a lot of options. Besides that there was an outside door that you open with the keycard but it was broken so anyone could get inside. Plus the elevator didn’t have an inspection date and didn’t feel very safe.

This property is terribly maintained. Our room was disgusting, dirty towels on floor, sink and shower clogged, peep hole in door missing, crumbs on floor etc.. When we asked to move rooms they put us in a room that was even worse than the first. There are numerous hotels in the area near the same price, stay there, please.
