Sybaris Pool Suites Indianapolis

We are fortunate to have stayed at the Sybaris Indianapolis. Overall, we do think everyone should give it a try at least once. The location is fine. It's not downtown like I believed initially, which was nice. There are some basic chain restaurants nearby (Chilis, Longhorn). There are also some fastfood restaurants closeby as well (Taco Bell, Wendy's, Subway, Qdoba). The atmosphere overall was okay, I guess. The exterior establish has a lot more to be desired. Nonetheless it appeared safe and relatively clean. The customer service was also pretty good. The two ladies that assisted us greeted us and were very pleasant and seemed concerned about how our afternoon booking went. Everything was quiet and we had absolutely no noise issues. Our biggest critique is around the quality of the room. Reading previous reviews most of the nonfavorable feedback seemed to be in line with what we experienced (dated rooms, low toilets, etc). I would also throw in there, they should remove all carpet and replace with laminate. Our whirlpool was dated, but in working condition. When we turned on the jets, there appeared to be particles (we assumed red chili flakes, but then thought it could have been leftover rose petals). It was enough to make me exit. Our biggest critique was how cold the room was. When we first arrived it was pretty cold, so we turned on the fireplace and upped the thermostat. We left the room for a solid hour afterwards and when we came back, the room was still very chilly. The restroom was an icebox the entire 2 hour stay we were there. We ended up checking out early because the room never really warmed up. I do want to also add the outside temperature was close to 20 degrees, so that could have played some factor. The more positive side of the visit, the pool was nice and warm. And the steam room was even warmed. We enjoyed both areas. The massage chair was really nice as well. We booked our stay primarily for the hottub, pool, and steam room. This is just our experience, and I do believe its worth trying. If we stayed again, we would look to stay in the Signature room to see if the price is really worth it. It wasn't available when we booked the Paradise suite. We ended up staying in room 19. From the main pictures on the website, the modern rooms that are displayed appear to be from other locations, and not the Indianapolis location. Which was a bit of a bummer because seeing those were also a reason we booked and what we expected. Overall, a 7 out of 10 and a likely return at least one more time.

Fourth visit to a Sybaris property (2 chalet rooms and 2 paradise pool suites) and this is the worst property we’ve experienced. Steam room did not work, pool room was cold, massage chair is missing/worn vinyl and the shower is crazy hot. Will not return to the Indianapolis property until it is updated. If we consider another visit, may try their Onyx suites in Illinois.
