Super 8 Motel - La Porte

We travel a lot: usually staying at low/mid grade hotels(generally $100-150ish). Based on the reviews and cost of surrounding hotels- that’s what we thought this was but we will never stay here again. This is not just an outdated hotel - it’s old run down hotel that’s not being kept up well. There are holes and stains on blankets, worn down & stained furniture, poorly patched holes everywhere, the fire alarm off its brakets,etc. HOWEVER the sheets were clean and the mini fridge/freezer worked well. You can hear EVERYTHING going on in any of the rooms beside/above/below. It was awful that our 10 & 7 yo &us had to listen to ppl next door while they were being intimate with each other. We tried to turn on the TV to drown out the moaning but the TV didnt work. Also has to explain the smell of incense & weed. The free breakfast had cereal, Little Debbie packaged pin wheels and honey buns, bagels and bread individually put in ziplock bags, yogurt, juices&coffee.

I give 1 star only because it was clean and staff was friendly. For a "No Smoking" hotel there were several cigarette burns on the comforter, the entire hallway, both upstairs and downstairs smelled like someone was cooking, not just carryout food. Worst was no smoke detector, only hanging wires where it should have been.

This hotel is extremely dated and not secure as anyone can access guest rooms. We left right after check in and went to another hotel. When asked about why we were checking out immediately. the front desk staff did not ask why or try to help. Horrible experience and not what I expect from Wyndham.
